Calmer Minds Counselling

Counselling with Jan-marc (Yan) Horvath

About

Seeking a safe space to explore your thoughts and feelings?

You may be feeling stuck, anxious, low, or overwhelmed, and want support to understand what’s happening and move forward. Many people I work with are dealing with stress, burnout, relationship or family difficulties, past emotional challenges, or neurodiversity-related experiences such as sensory overwhelm, fatigue, or feeling misunderstood.

I’m Jan-marc (Yan) Horvath, a fully qualified integrative counsellor based in Sheffield and the High Peak, offering both in-person and online sessions for adults (18+). I bring over 20 years’ experience as a mental health practitioner, along with extensive mindfulness and meditation practice, including teaching weekly classes for more than 20 years.

I work from a person-centred foundation, integrating Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Transactional Analysis, and mindfulness-based approaches such as Compassion Focused Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). My aim is to provide a warm, calm, and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported in exploring your thoughts, feelings, and experiences.

I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, am registered with the BACP, and am fully insured.

If you’re unsure whether counselling is right for you, you’re welcome to book a free 20–30 minute consultation by phone or video — a chance to see if we’re a good fit.
